Project Challenge

A newly opened restaurant in New Orleans required a custom mosaic entry apron featuring its logo, “Charmant.” The goal was to translate a digital logo into a durable, high-traffic floor installation while maintaining clarity, proportion, and brand identity. The space was compact, which made typography alignment and border composition critical. The mosaic also needed to withstand constant foot traffic without losing definition over time.

Design & Material Selection Process

The project began with a logo file provided by the client, followed by digital mockups and design presentations. Initially, porcelain tiles were considered. However, due to limitations in shaping and text accuracy, the design team recommended switching to hand-cut marble.
This decision allowed for greater flexibility in shaping each element, ensuring precise typography and better adaptation to the entry space. Multiple border options were presented, along with layout refinements to balance spacing and improve visual proportion. The final design combined black and white marble with a defined border that enhanced structure and readability.

Fabrication Strategy

Each marble tessera was hand-cut to achieve sharp lettering and clean edges. Special attention was given to spacing, alignment, and contrast to ensure the logo remained legible when viewed from different angles.
The mosaic was assembled as a cohesive composition rather than relying on pre-set tile formats. This allowed the design to maintain its integrity without distortion, especially within the confined entry dimensions. Durability was also a key factor, with dense natural marble selected to handle long-term wear in a high-traffic environment.

Installation Coordination

The mosaic was fabricated in mapped, installation-ready sections to simplify on-site placement. Each piece was labeled to ensure accurate alignment during installation.
Given the tight project timeline, production and delivery were expedited to meet the restaurant’s opening schedule. Standard mesh backing was used to support efficient installation while maintaining precision. Coordination ensured that the final layout matched the approved design without adjustment on-site.

Project Outcome

The completed entry apron successfully translated the restaurant’s branding into a permanent architectural feature. The black and white marble mosaic provides strong visual contrast, durability, and a refined first impression for visitors.

The goal was to translate brand identity into a refined, durable floor installation that would welcome guests while aligning with both the restaurant’s aesthetic and the surrounding desert environment. The challenge was to merge two design directions into a single cohesive composition without compromising clarity or visual flow.

Design & Material Selection Process

The IHG design team provided two concept directions along with brand guidelines and color references. One concept was minimal, while the other introduced more layered detailing. The final design combined elements from both, refining the layout, adjusting proportions, and optimizing logo placement for better visual balance.
To support decision-making, detailed digital renders were created, allowing the team to visualize the mosaic within the actual space. Material selection focused on both aesthetics and durability. Crema marfil marble was chosen for the base, complemented by deep green and black tones for definition, with subtle golden accents to add warmth and reflect the project’s design palette.

Fabrication Strategy

Once approved, the design was translated into a detailed production file and moved into fabrication. Each marble tessera was hand-cut to ensure precision in geometry and clean logo articulation.

Throughout production, progress updates were shared with the client, including workshop images showing cutting stages and layout assembly. This maintained transparency and allowed the client to stay involved as the mosaic took shape. Quality checks ensured consistency in spacing, alignment, and overall composition.

Installation Coordination

The mosaic was prepared in mapped, installation-ready sections to ensure accurate placement on-site. Careful coordination allowed the piece to integrate seamlessly within the entrance layout without requiring adjustments during installation.
Packaging followed standard protective procedures to ensure safe delivery, while clear installation guidance supported proper placement and finishing.

The completed mosaic created a strong first impression at the entrance of Juniper Table, combining brand identity with material refinement. The balanced composition, warm marble tones, and precise detailing resulted in a surface that feels both inviting and architecturally integrated.

A private beachfront villa on Jumeirah Beach required a cohesive series of interior and exterior marble mosaics that reflected its coastal setting. The mosaics needed to feel expressive and natural rather than overly polished, integrating seamlessly with clean architectural lines, layered textures, and uninterrupted sea views. Each installation had to align precisely with architectural drawings while adapting to different spatial conditions throughout the property.

Design Development

The process unfolded through collaborative discussions with the design team at Four & More. Initial inspiration was drawn from our mosaic catalog, then refined through multiple revisions to suit the villa’s architectural language.

Digital sketches, CAD coordination, and 2D/3D renderings ensured each mosaic panel was scaled accurately within its designated space. Although unified by a single visual language, each area required its own interpretation to maintain harmony across the villa.

Material Selection

Natural marble was selected in tones inspired by the coastal surroundings. The palette included Kashmir White, Everest Blue, and Rosso Verona, eventually refined into a calm composition of creamy bases layered with soft blues, whites, and warm brown undertones. The materials were chosen not only for aesthetics but also for performance in both interior and exterior environments.

Fabrication Strategy

Each mosaic panel was engineered directly from architectural drawings to ensure precise scale, proportion, and material transitions. Artisans hand-cut and assembled the marble tesserae, maintaining consistency across all three installations while allowing subtle tonal shifts that interact with light and nearby water reflections.

Installation Coordination

The mosaics were fabricated, mapped, and prepared for installation within the UAE. While waterproofing was managed by the client’s construction team, our scope included fabrication alignment, installation execution, and final grouting to meet high-end residential performance standards.

Project Outcome

The completed three-part mosaic series enhances both interior and exterior spaces with a refined coastal rhythm. The marble surfaces shift gently with changing daylight, reinforcing the villa’s connection to its beachfront setting. The result is a unified architectural expression crafted, durable, and integrated into the identity of the residence rather than applied as decoration.
