In the serene town of Woodinville, Washington, this project tells a story of passion, travel, and artistic expression. MEC was delighted to partner once again with Kristin, a discerning homeowner and returning client who had previously entrusted us with a bespoke mosaic installation. This time, she returned with a vision – inspired by a scenic photograph she captured during a trip to Venice, Italy. The photo, showcasing soft pinks, corals, and the gentle reflection of heritage architecture over a tranquil canal, sparked the beginning of this exquisite mosaic journey.

Our Design Process: From Vision to Precision

Our expert design team worked closely with Kristin and her interior architect firm Lux Design Builds, that specialises in kitchen and bathroom remodelling in Washington, DC, to translate this emotional visual into a mosaic mural for her bathroom closet wall. We began by selecting a custom color palette that mirrored the photo’s dreamy tones – soft pinks, muted corals, gentle blues, and light greys – hues that echoed not only the architecture but also the natural reflections dancing on the Venetian canal. We handpicked mosaic tiles with varying finishes – from satin glass to matte stone – to create a balanced yet dynamic surface.

Designed for a Bathroom Retreat

At MEC, our mosaics are not only visually striking – they are also engineered for functionality in wet and humid environments like bathrooms and spa areas. Our materials are carefully selected for their durability, moisture resistance, and longevity. Whether it’s natural stone, glass, or porcelain tesserae, every tile we use is made to withstand the demands of daily use, while maintaining its luxury appeal. This project is a perfect example of how art and practicality can coexist beautifully.
