Custom Sapphire Sparkler Mosaic Bathroom Wall Installation in Maryland

An extraordinary glass tile installation featuring bold blues and radiant metallics, transforming a bathroom wall into a luminous work of art with ice jade glass tiles and shimmering accents.

When Ava Carter envisioned a bold, luminous mosaic feature for her bathroom, her interior designer Liz Potarazu from LP&Co Design knew exactly where to turn. Inspired by MEC’s “Sapphire Sparkler” Glass Tile Shower Wall – a radiant, dynamic mural from our Elysian Collection – Liz reached out to MEC Artworks to create something truly spectacular. The result: a fully customized, hand-cut masterpiece that brings Ava’s vision to life with brilliance, control, and a touch of metallic magic.

Unlike mass-produced mosaics, MEC’s approach is rooted in design precision, real-time updates, and collaborative refinement. For Ava’s project, our design team worked closely with Liz to tailor the original Sapphire Sparkler design into something uniquely hers.

The base design, already a vivid blend of sapphire, cobalt, and indigo blues with shimmering white and silver highlights, was enhanced with additional metallic silver accents and white iridescent hues. These updates brought out the metallic essence of the piece even more, elevating the entire visual impact. With meticulous attention, each adjustment was shared in real-time – ensuring complete transparency and satisfaction throughout the production process.

A Statement Wall That Steals the Spotlight

Measuring 78 inches by 90 inches, the final mosaic installation sits proudly behind Ava’s bathtub wall. The artwork transforms the bathroom into an immersive, gallery-worthy retreat – where light, motion, and color collide in harmony. At the heart of the mural, a starburst center explodes outward in radiant blues and silvers, creating a sense of infinite energy and cosmic allure.

Color Magic: A Rich, Radiating Palette

With these shimmering and iridescent mosaic tiles, each 15mm hand-cut tile contributes to the swirling pattern, revealing subtle gradients and depths not seen in typical factory-made mosaics. From every angle, the mural shimmers and shifts-capturing light and commanding attention.

Design in Motion: A Living, Breathing Artwork

One of the defining features of this piece is its dynamic starburst layout-a design that mimics the explosive beauty of fireworks or a galactic nebula. The illusion of infinite motion is achieved through expert transitions in shading, with darker hues at the edges and brilliant whites at the core. This immersive flow gives the space a sense of movement and energy that can’t be replicated by static, off-the-shelf tiles.

Deep Sapphire & Cobalt Blues form the base, transitioning into lighter shades like indigo and cerulean, evoking a celestial, energetic feel.
Bright White & Metallic Silver Highlights give the mural its luminous heart-like a burst of light frozen in time.
Navy & Black Accents are subtly placed to add depth, enhance dimensionality, and ground the design in elegance.
