When Gary Thompson, a corporate client with a big vision, emailed to ask whether we could create something that would quietly say everything without saying a word, we knew exactly where to begin.
Client Brief
Gary had seen the kind of mosaic work we’d done for other executive spaces, the subtle-yet-stunning medallions that grace lobbies, and become the silent storytellers of the brands they represent. So he reached out, curious to see if his own headquarters could carry that same undeniable presence.
Gary gravitated toward the classic richness of blues and golds.
Inspiration Moodboard
Our design team then began translating those conversations into geometry. Rings that draw the eye inward. A floral starburst at the center that feels grounded and symmetrical. Surrounding it, a band of smaller organic forms that soften the structure.
All held inside a bold field of deep blue gemstone-like mosaic that instantly feels like luxury you can walk on.
Design Development
Initial Sketches
Together, we sketched, sampled, and dreamed up possibilities spread across the entire floor plan. But one concept kept rising above the rest, a singular medallion.
2D & 3D Visualizations
High-resolution tile layouts and 3D renderings illustrated a bold field of deep blue gemstone-like mosaic that instantly feels like luxury you can walk on.
Color Palette & Materials
Rich dark blue grounds the medallion, while gold-brown accents bring warmth and contrast that draws the eye to the center.

The central star required multiple test layouts to get the proportions just right. It was a painstaking process but seeing the final medallion land perfectly in the lobby floor made the effort feel truly rewarding.

We sent him photos of the layout stage where the medallion begins as a puzzle on a full scale template. Then the grouting tests where colors are chosen to enhance contrast without stealing the attention. The anticipation built with each milestone.
