Beachfront Jumeirah Villa: A Three-Part Mosaic Series

With uninterrupted beach views and a prime, high-end location, the home called for the finest materials and craftsmanship.
Designed by Four & More, the villa brings together clean architectural lines and layered textures, where every detail contributes to the overall experience of the space.
Our role in the project was to design and execute a series of custom handcrafted marble mosaics.
From the beginning, this was never a one-directional process.
Client Brief
The design journey unfolded through a series of conversations, presentations, and visual explorations. Our catalog of mosaics provided the initial inspiration, which later went through a round of intentional revisions.
We explored a palette of natural marble colours, including:
- Kashmir White,
- Everest Blue,
- Rosso Verona
These colors were also well-suited to the theme of the villa and its surrounding geography. The final palette settled into a calm, coastal rhythm, creme as the base, layered with soft blues, whites, and warm brown undertones.
Inspiration Moodboard
In the presentation PDF shared with the team, we explored multiple design directions, including a foyer mosaic concept, colour breakdowns, and reference compositions inspired by rug-style mosaics from MEC’s catalogue.
One of the defining design gestures was the introduction of soft, flowing swirls, particularly across the pool border mosaic. This retreat-style design element takes inspiration from seashells.
Design Development
Initial Sketches
Design development moved between digital renders and architectural drawings, created in coordination with engineering plans to ensure accuracy.
2D & 3D Visualizations
High-resolution tile layouts and 3D renderings were designed for the client by MEC.
Color Palette & Materials
A refined palette of white, blue, and brown was used and re-enforced throughout the series.

While the mosaic design followed a single visual language, each space required its own interpretation. The colour palette here plays gently with reflections from the water, allowing the mosaic to shift subtly throughout the day.
Final Installed Photos
Our scope included mosaic design development, fabrication, installation, and grouting. While waterproofing is a service we offer as part of our mosaic installations, for this project, our client managed the waterproofing directly, aligning it with their overall construction strategy.
Once completed, the mosaics were carefully prepared and delivered to the UAE, meeting the quality and performance standards required for a high-end private residence.
