Bespoke Golden Peacock Mosaic Art in California
When Veena from Saratoga, CA, reached out to us, she had a clear vision in mind: a stunning golden peacock mosaic mural with floral elements for her master bath. Unlike many projects where we collaborate closely on design and revisions, this one was different. Veena knew exactly what she wanted, down to the last detail—a 5’ x 8’ masterpiece that would grace the bathtub wall.

From Idea to Reality: No Time Wasted
Typically, a project like this would start with a flurry of sketches, revisions, and design consultations. But Veena’s case was different. She had already crafted the blueprint in her mind, leaving us with the exciting task of executing it perfectly. Instead, we focused on showcasing our previous similar projects, highlighting our technique, craftsmanship, and the level of intricacy we bring to each piece. Veena was impressed and confident in our ability to bring her vision to life.
After sharing some of our suggested Murano and Vertex glass mosaic tile colors, Veena selected her favorites. The blend of golden, brass, and champagne metallic foiled Murano glass was a hit, adding that extra charm and luxury she was looking for.
Behind the Glass: The Magic of Murano
For this project, the tiles weren’t just materials; they were the stars of the show. The Murano glass tiles we used are known for their brilliance and unique surface textures, each bringing something special to the table. Here’s a closer look at the key players:
Murano Bloom – These tiles, with their solid, vibrant colors, provided the foundation for the peacock’s striking feathers. Their slightly textured surface catches and reflects light, adding a dynamic quality to the mural.
Murano Iris – The iridescent shine of these tiles was perfect for creating depth and movement, particularly in the peacock’s intricate plumage. Each tile seemed to shimmer with every shift of light, giving life to the artwork.
Murano Opaline – For the finishing touches, we used Murano Opaline tiles with metallic foiled layers embedded in crystal-clear glass. These tiles brought the mural to life, adding that extra sparkle to the golden hues and making the peacock truly stand out.

Bringing the Mural to Life: The Craftsmanship Process
With the design confirmed and the materials selected, the crafting process began. Each piece of the mural was handcrafted by our expert artisans, who carefully hand-cut and placed every glass tile. The peacock, with its flowing golden feathers and poised elegance, became the centerpiece of the mural, surrounded by a delicate array of white and grey flowers.
The background, a subtle blend of beige and gold, was created to allow the rich colors of the peacock and floral elements to shine. The gradients in the background added a sense of light and shadow, giving the entire piece depth and dimension.
As always, we kept Veena in the loop with regular updates and images from the workshop. It’s one of the things our clients love—seeing their custom piece being created, knowing they can ask for tweaks along the way. Not that Veena needed to; the mural was coming together exactly as she had imagined.

The Final Assembly: A Masterpiece Revealed
After weeks of meticulous work, the golden peacock mosaic mural was complete. The final product was more than just a decoration—it was a statement. The mural’s metallic foiled Murano glass tiles caught the light perfectly, making the peacock seem almost alive as it shimmered in the natural light of Veena’s master bath.
