Bespoke Mosaic Backsplash for Tea Room in Nassau, Bahamas
A client from the Bahamas approached MEC Artworks for a bespoke mosaic backsplash for a kitchen in a “Tea Room” under construction on the grounds of a museum in Nassau. The client was inspired by our elegant French Veneiza Leaf Mosaic pattern design, featuring modern wavy stripes in luxurious glass mosaic with olive green leaves, which add a refreshing tone to the space.
The project scope involved covering an accent wall 18 feet wide and 7 feet tall, from above the counters to the ceiling, including adjustments for a 48-inch wide window in the center. The client’s vision included a customized leaf design that replaced ivy-like leaves with those resembling the native Hibiscus flower and reducing the size of some larger leaf clusters.
MEC Artworks’ design team crafted a tailored presentation incorporating the client’s suggestions. The final design, which thrilled the client, was approved for production. The bespoke mosaic has now been successfully installed in the Tea Room at the museum in Nassau, though specific details of the location remain confidential.
